Tight-binding molecular dynamics simulations
We present the tight-binding molecular dynamics (TBMD) scheme and describe its numerical implementation in a serial FORTRAN-77 code. We discuss how to organize a typical simulation and to control the I/O. An analysis of the computational workload is also presented and discussed. Ó 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملSelf-consistent tight-binding molecular-dynamics method for cluster studies
The Hubbard-type tight-binding ~TB! Hamiltonian is generalized to incorporate effects of charge transfer efficiently into the TB ~Slater-Koster-type! parameters. The generalization is such that charge transfer as well as Madelung-type interactions are included in a self-consistent manner. In particular, the intrasite Coulomb interactions of our Hubbard Hamiltonian are calculated from the chemic...
متن کاملWettability of boron monolayer using molecular dynamics simulation method
Over the past years, two-dimensional materials such as graphene, phosphorene, silicene, and boron-nitride have attracted the attention of many researchers. After the successful synthesis of graphene, due to its many new applications, researches began to produce nanosheets from other elements, and among these elements, boron was one of the options. In the periodic table of elements, boron is ahe...
متن کاملMolecular Dynamics Simulation of Water in Single WallCarbon Nanotube
The overall aim of this study is to calculate some water properties in the single wall carbon naotubes (SWCNT) and compare them to the bulk water properties to investigate the deviation of water properties inside the SWCNT from those in the bulk. Here some physical and transport properties of water molecules in the single wall carbon nanotube were reported by performing molecular dynamics (MD) ...
متن کاملTight binding molecular dynamics studies of the viscosity of liquid selenium
A tight binding technique is employed to study the influence of the size of the unit cell on molecular dynamics simulations of liquid selenium at 870 K. Systems with 69, 138, 276 and 552 atoms have been studied within the Fermi operator expansion method. The Green– Kubo formula has been used to calculate the shear viscosity for all systems from the off-diagonal component of the stress tensor. N...
